Eddie Sorrells, CPP, PSP, PCI

Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel, DSI Security Services

Eddie Sorrells, CPP, PSP, PCI, serves as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for DSI Security Services. Eddie began his career with DSI as a security officer over 31 years ago.  Since that time, he has severed in virtually every management position within the company. 

Eddie has over 30 years of security experience and is a frequent speaker on topics such as workplace violence, physical security, employment law, workplace investigations, and other security and business topics. He has been a published author in Security Management Magazine and has also been featured in national publications such as the Wall Street Journal and Security Management Magazine commenting on important issues concerning the private security industry. 

Eddie released his first book in 2015: Security Litigation: Best Practices for Managing and Preventing Security-Related Lawsuits. The book provides practical guidance and examples on how to deal with the most difficult legal issues that security executives face every day, while also exploring the key issues that occur before, during, and after a lawsuit.

He holds a BS degree from Troy University and a Juris Doctorate from Jones School of Law in Montgomery, Alabama. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Alabama and the United States District Court, Middle District of Alabama. He holds the CPP (Certified Protection Professional) Board Certification in Security Management, PSP Certification (Physical Security Professional), and PCI Certification (Professional Certified Investigator) He serves as a board member for NASCO (National Association of Security Companies), is a Past Chair of the Security Services Council and Community Vice President (CVP) for ASIS International. He serves on the ASIS International Global Board of directors. In 2022 he was named to IFSEC's Global influencers list for Security Thought Leadership.
